Saturday 26th November off to Wigan today for the Southport & Birkdale premier show, our Judge was Jo Cunliffe of the Fallenleaf Affix. Liyla was 3rd in the puppy class and diesel 1st in limit then Diesel was BOB, waited patiently all day for BIS and not placed :(
Saturday 19th November short drive today to Wrexham Canine where Liyla won her junior class and was Best Puppy in Breed and then Diesel won the open class.
Sunday 20th November off to Conway today to Llandudno Canine, Diesel was BOB, Liyla was best puppy and Solo was Best Special Vintage
Saturday 12th November was a long drive today to Edinburgh under Swedish Breed judge Annika Ultveit Mo, Solo won the veteran dog class and to my surprise went on and won the DCC how fab!!! Liyla was palced 2nd in her puppy class.
Sunday 6th November, a short drive today to wrexham to Gundog Club of North Wales open show, Liyla won the Junior class and was best puppy in breed and Diesel won the open class.
Saturday 22nd October trip today to Middlewhich where it was the Northwest Spaniel Open Show. Liyla was in a large class and never got placed today, Solo was in the veteran class and won and was then declared Best veteran in Show
Sunday 16th October, was a long drive to Scotland to the ESS club of Scotland open show, first up was Solo and he was placed 1st in the Veteran class then declared Best Veteran in Show, Diesel did not fayre to well and was fourth in his class and then Liyla was 1st in the Minor Puppy Bitch class and then was best Minor Puppy in Show.
Saturday 15th October, short trip to Colwyn bay to Llandudno open show Liyla was Best Puppy in Breed and Solo was 1st in the Special Vintage class with an entry of 11 dogs.
Wednesday 12th October was a trip to Malvern to the Gundog Society of Wales Champ show, first in the ring was Diesel and was placed second in a good class, then next was Solo who was also second in his class, next was Liyla who was 3rd in her minor puppy class and then totally thrilled me by winning the monor puppy stakes class with an entry of 50 dogs and about 30 present.
Sunday 1st October a drive up to Ripon today to the Northern ESS Club open show, judge David Craig. Solo won his veteran class and was declared Best Veteran in Show, Diesel placed 2nd in a good PG class then Liyla was placed 4th,1st & 2nd in her classes, although she tends to want to charge around the ring she stands lovely and i am very pleased with her
Sunday 25th September, short drive today to Crewe and it was Myself, Solo and Liyla. A very small entry of 5 dogs Liyla won the puppy class and Solo won the open class, Solo BOB and Liyla BP & RBIB, then Liyla challenged in the RBOB class along with approx 10 other dogs and she was placed 2nd!! she was also the youngest. It was Solos turn next in the ring to challege all the other 28 unbeaten dogs and not to be outdone he was awarded Best In Show, how proud am I ??
Sunday 18th September was a trip up to Darlington Champ Show with Breed Specialist Colin Woodward, Solo was up first in the veteran class and he was placed first, the critique reads "has anyone advised this chap just how old he is, belies his years lovely head type & expression, firm in topline, good body, legs & feet, moved with exuberance well presented" thank you Colin, next up was our little girl Liyla at just 6 months of age and her first show, she went round the ring great guns, she stood really well but in a large class of 9 girls she was unplaced today.
Sunday 4th September was a trip to Birmingham under judge John Thirwell, only took Solo today and he won his veteran class and even though there was no award he was declared best veteran in breed
Monday 29th August our first show in over a month (due to birthdays and our 25th wedding anniversary) we ambled along to Flint & Deeside show, Diesel & Solo placed first in each of their classes and Solo was BOB, Solo then went on to win best Veteran,
Sunday 17th July it was a short trip to Oswestry for an open show, the weather was dry for the most past so we were able to show outside. Diesel was 1st in his class and Solo was 1st in his, Solo won BOB and Diesel RBOB. Solo then went on to win grp 3.
Friday 8th July saw me up early at 3.15am to drive to Peterborough for the East of England Ch show under Christine House, Diesel was entered in PG and was -placed 1st, Solo only in the Veteran Stakes today and was unplaced.
12th June our 1st show this month due to judging engagements. it was off the Darlington for the Northern ESS Society Champ Show, under Mr Frank Bjerklund (Sweden) Diesel was placed 4th in a lage PG class and Solo won the Veteran dog class and then went on to win Best Veteran in Show, comments from the judge were Solo was one of the best movers of the day. We also took young Liyla who tavelled very well and mixed with others quite happily.
8th May A short trip today to Stafford under breed specialist Gareth Lawler, not a brilliant day diesel placed 4th
30th April was a trip to Malvern to WELKS ch show under breed specialist Jan Wood, only taking Diesel this time he won a good PG class, the weather was sunny but slightly breezy so a good day by all accounts.
18th April was Wrexham Kennel society limit show, judge Christine House, i only took diesel and he was the only ess there so he won his class and then went on to take Reserve Best in show..
17th April Was the ESS club of wales under breed specialist Angela Mitchell, Diesel was placed 3rd in the Pg class and solo was 1st in veteran dog, he then went on to take Best Veteran in Show. it was an unusual day where a young lamb was chased off the hills by dogs and came flying into the carpark, so not wanting to see it in distress i caught it and put it in my van to keep it safe, we drove up the mountain later and re-released it where hopefully it would find its mum.
March 10th Well today was the long awaited Crufts under Breed specialist Anne Corbett. It was up at 4am and off we set at 5 am to get us there in plenty of time. Solo was in the first class Veteran Dog, he went really well and was placed 2nd. Diesel was in Post Grad Dog and with an entry of 16 I thought we would be coming out empty handed, but he did really well and was placed VHC (very highly commended).
January 23rd The first show of the year for us saw us driving to Stafford to Manchester Ch Show, under Breed Judge Ken Green. Diesel in Post Grad dog was placed 3rd out of a class of ten. Solo who is almost 10 was paced 1st in the Veteran Dog class and then went on to Best Veteran in Breed.
